Why is my image or video being moderated and blocked by the provider?

Learn why your generation is moderated

If you see a moderation error while generating an image or video in DaVinci AI, it means that the AI model processing your request has flagged the prompt or the generated content.

DaVinci AI provides access to multiple third-party AI models through a single platform. These models may have their own moderation systems and content policies, which means that a request accepted by one model may be rejected by another.

Why Does a Moderation Error Occur?

There are several possible reasons why your image or video generation might be blocked:

1. The AI Model's Content Policies

Each AI provider has its own content guidelines and moderation rules. Some models may apply stricter restrictions than others, even when processing similar prompts.

As a result, a prompt that works with one AI model may trigger a moderation error when submitted to another.

2. Your Prompt Contains Restricted Content

The AI provider may flag certain words, descriptions, or combinations of terms in your prompt.

Depending on the model's policies, this may include:

  • Explicit or sexually suggestive content.

  • Graphic violence or disturbing imagery.

  • Content involving minors in inappropriate contexts.

  • Harmful, dangerous, or otherwise restricted scenarios.

  • Other content that violates the provider's usage policies.

Even if your intention is harmless, certain descriptions or wording may trigger automated moderation filters.

3. The Generated Content Is Flagged

A moderation error does not always mean there is an issue with your prompt.

In some cases, the AI model may successfully process your request but flag the resulting image or video during its output moderation checks.

This means that even an apparently acceptable prompt can sometimes produce content that the provider's moderation system rejects.

4. Different AI Models Have Different Moderation Rules

DaVinci AI integrates multiple third-party AI models, and each provider has its own content guidelines and moderation policies.

If one AI provider blocks your image or video generation, this does not necessarily mean that another provider will block the same request.

Each provider evaluates prompts and generated content independently. Therefore, a request rejected by one provider may still be accepted by another.

What Can I Do If My Generation Is Blocked?

If your generation is blocked by a provider, we recommend trying a different AI model. Since moderation rules vary between providers, switching to another model may help resolve the issue and allow you to generate your content.

If you still encounter a moderation error, you can try the following:

  1. Review your prompt: Remove potentially sensitive, ambiguous, or restricted descriptions.

  2. Use simpler wording: Try describing the scene in a more neutral and straightforward way.

  3. Try another AI model: Different providers may interpret and moderate the same prompt differently.

  4. Adjust your request: If a particular detail is triggering moderation, try rephrasing or removing it.

What If My Prompt Is Acceptable but Still Gets Blocked?

We understand that moderation errors can sometimes occur even when your prompt appears to follow the applicable content guidelines.

Since moderation checks are primarily handled by the underlying AI provider, DaVinci AI does not directly control all moderation decisions.

If you continue experiencing this issue with an apparently acceptable prompt, please contact our support team and share the following details:

  • The AI model you were using.

  • The prompt you submitted.

  • A screenshot of the moderation error.

  • Whether the issue occurs consistently or only occasionally.

Our team can review your report and, when necessary, follow up with the relevant AI provider to better understand why the content was flagged.
